I haven't seen the movie but heard a lot of good things about it and this MTV actually tells me that Singapore cinema has come a long way. Maybe I should organise a screening in Guangzhou... 881

You didn't say much abt the movie in your post. It's actually a movie about the life of 'getai' performers. Colourful performances that make their appearance during 7 month! It's funny, it's exciting, it's even touching towards the end.
I must confess though, I've never been to a getai performance even when I was a kid... Too crass I thought! HAHAHA... but now, this movie looks too good to pass up. I'm going to watch it - hopefully it's still playing next weekend.
Definitely organise a movie night for this one! Singapore movie extravaganza!! This is not the only good movie made here lah... what about "I Not Stupid", "Singapore Dreaming". Those were pretty good too.
I heard v negative comments abt this movie though.
PB: You always the opposite. What most of us find good, you don't like... e.g. Lord of the Rings... You only like soppy romances and Japanese cartoons...
