We left Ooty early next morning (
31 May 2007) hoping to see some of Mysore before heading back to Bangalore.

On a low hill, just outside the royal city of Mysore, stand a shimmering white palace - a splendid Italianate palazzo, double-columned and domed - set in sprawling terraced and landscaped gardens. This is the Lalitha Mahal Palace, built by the erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore to host his most important guest, the Viceroy of India. Set on a ridge commanding a panoramic view of the gently sloping and curving valley, at the foot of the Chamundi hill, this dream-like palace was built in the year 1931 for special guests of the Maharajah's.

Inside, there was a stuffed lion standing regally in the middle of the lobby. The atmosphere conjured up images of the days when the maharajahs ruled. It was so evocative of the days of yore that I felt completely out of place in my jeans and t-shirt.

I could actually imagine carriages pulling up into the driveway, disembarking royalty in all their finery. A visit is a must. Wished we had time for at least a drink in the bar, if not a meal in the palatial restaurant.

It's beautiful Chinkinin! You must divulge your secret program of photograph setting.. I love how you place them together like you do.
Yup, the photos are really great. Boon tried his hand at taking some shots immediately after CK (to see if he could capture the same light, or moment, or mood), and of course, his photos were somehow just nothng like the ones CK took!
Annie: Adobe Photoshop Elements. Really easy to use. It has quite a few options for photo layouts.
Su: It's practice and photoshop. Hahaha. And you said your daughter takes better pics than Boon too. So maybe it's just Boon. Sorry Boon, LOL.
i agree. i just don't have the "eye" to compose a nice pic but CK has. It's not a matter of luck either, cos it's happened too often. Both ck and i can be in the same position and take the same pics, but somehow his turns out better! i'll never buy an expensive camera.
The haunted hotel...heehee
