The drive to Ooty isn't particularly exciting until you get to the 36 sharp bends. But the national park has the best paved roads, at least on the Karnataka side. We managed to spot some langurs and elephants too.

As we got closer, the sight of the Nilgiris (Blue Mountains) with the clouds clothing parts of it really made us long to be there immediately. Su remarked that we get that sight occasionally on Bukit Timah Hill as well. But without the cooler temperatures of course.

A tea break at this little tea shop yielded the best tea on the trip. Su & I were having coffee until we tasted what Boon ordered. We stopped there again on the way back, but I think we should have just stuck to our memories of the first sip.

Whoa! Finally, some wild life! (And I don't mean your drinking kakis!) And flames of the forest in bloom! Exclamations! Exclamations!
Hey but you guys are my drinking kakis what. It's definite;y the red flames' time. Saw some amazing ones but couldn't get pics.
I've been making and drinking tea from the Niligeeri hills EVERYDAY. 1 part milk, 1 part water, boil, add the tea leaves, strain, sugar to taste and you have it! I think I've got the hang of it. The only difference is that we don't have fresh cow's milk. Can't just walk outside and milk a cow by the roadside! Wonder if goat's milk will make any difference - hay dairy is just a short drive away....
Yes, been enjoying Nilgiri tea every day. Told Boon the only thing missing is the white dhoti..
This reminded me that Meng Yin made really nice BOH tea for us many moons ago!
Boon without a dhoti on.. hmm..
*evil grin*
