Water, Water Everywhere

I really have to check if there is something is my karma or whatever you call it that is disagreeable with water.

I came home from an anniversary celebration with A&A, which will be blogged later, just after midnight. It had started to rain quite heavily. The small porch at my front door doesn't really get any rain but I notice water there. It was bubbling and I realised that the water was back-flowing. I checked all my windows and they were ok. Guess what, I never thought to check the balcony.

Not five minutes later, I stepped into a puddle in my living room. Lo and behold, water had been back flowing on the balcony too and flowed into the living, stretching to the dining and my bedroom doorway. Fortunately, I had some help to somehow clear some of the blockage on the balcony and also threw some over the side. And I also managed to put all the stuff that had been lying on the floor onto tables and chairs. After more than half an hour, managed to dry up most of the
place.

Went downstairs to take these pics of the car park, which was also flooded. Not quite a disaster but bad enough. The rain stopped after about an hour and the water started to subside.

Remember I said karma at the start? A similar thing happened to me about two years ago when I moved in to my previous apartment. I had just arrived home after work during some heavy rain. How weird is it that I always managed to just arrive in time?

Your new place was flooded?

I thought you were staying in a new apartment which is probably way above ground.

Hmm.... confused, confused... where and what are you staying in?

Yes I did indeed move into a first floor apartment and this is not supposed to happen. But the drainpipe must have got blocked somewhere below me... sigh.

is it too late to quit the place? or get some compensation (e.g. a kayak) from landlord? looks like it'll be months before things settle down. time for u to take a much needed holiday.

see, you should hv opted for that grand mansion ontop of a hill. Then guaranteed no flooding!
