Chinese New Year is basically the time for families. We all come home from wherever we are to have reunion dinner on the eve of the new year. Then we visit all all our relatives on the first day. My mother is the eldest in her family and my dad was the eldest as well, in Singapore anyway. So we didn't have to visit anyone. They all came to us. We would all gather to eat and gamble (termed used loosely - small bets usually meant just to empty everyone's ang pows.)

On the second day, we decided to bring some of our relatives from JB to Vivocity. (Yes, in Singapore, a visit to the mall counts as a family outing.) Actually I wanted to indulge my gluttony at Carl's Jr. Alas, that was not to be as we were too many and it would have been difficult to get a table. We ended up at Marche. I managed to resist the pork knuckles and only had some sausages and the crepe.
Adjourned that evening to
VnChewie's place where they made the most delicious Hokkien poh piah (with seaweed and crunchy grounded flat fish...) and pumpkin cake. You can check out the details in her blog. Yes, once again, it was all about food. Needless to say, a great time was had by all.

That vivocity marche is so small and the offerings mighty exxpensive!!!
Tell me about it. The crepe plus ice-cream almost $10. When you have no choice...
$10 for a crepe!!??? that is almost like daylight robbery.
Yeah, portions are small at the new marche. Gosh, in one week you've got three entries up already! I only managed one. Nothing much to do in Bangalore ah? Just eat, drink and chiak chua? ;)
Been a little quiet 'cos everyone's away for the new year. This seems to be the weekend to be away...
