Hampi

Stone Chariot
I visited Hampi in April 2003. Not sure if it was the hottest time of the year but it was pretty damn hot. However, that meant that there were fewer tourists like us around and you could wander around the ruins pretty much undisturbed

Pushkarini Tank
Hampi was the seat of the VIJAYANAGARA empire which was the capital of the largest empire in post-mogul India, covering several states. The empire reigned supreme under Krishnadevaraya, the Emperor. The Vijayanagara empire stretched over at least three states - Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh. The destruction of Vijayanagar by marauding Moghul invaders was sudden, shocking and absolute. They reduced the city to ruins amid scenes of savage massacre and horrors beggaring description... extracted from the Karnataka Tourism site.

Musical Pillars at the Vithalla Palace
Hampi is a World Heritage Site and was where some scenes from Jackie Chan's "The Myth" was shot.

Not sudden. There was a thread of conversation that required the disguise. Then too lazy to change. LOL. Keeping this for a while...
