Zhong Qiu Jie 2006

The celebration of this year's festival was held at my place. It's been a while since I last hosted the Singaloreans at home.

The day started well enough. Then it started to pour around 4pm. That's it, I thought it was going to be a wash out. How were we to enjoy the moon and sip tea and have mooncakes while we guessed the lantern riddles? Lucky for us, the weather cleared by 6, just in time.

Food was catered from Saigon and the chef, Yu Hing, delivered it personally to make sure that all was in order. Service, eh? Everyone enjoyed the aromatic duck wrapped in pancake. Spring rolls were great. So all were surprised when more food was brought out. Where were we going to have room for the dessert and not forgetting what the occasion was in honour of, the mooncakes. Being Singaloreans, when it came to food, we managed somehow...

Ternasser arrived late by soon made herself useful. She became the bartender de nuit, serving up mojitos one after another. At one point, she actually brought two for JT, since he would finish them so quickly anyway.

Better than Bangalore's usual closing hours, we called it a night at 1.

We've had Thomas' theories or hypotheses in the past. Here are a few of JT's:

1) Girls from Nagarland have short legs (proportion 60-40) because they walk a lot;
2) Bowl of baking soda on the bed is good for making babies;
3) You can tell that a guy is no longer a virgin if his piss comes out in more than one jet.

OK... the last one he can't take credit for as it originated from an army buddy of his. The list of theories go on. A more extensive compilation will certainly be published one day.

new faces - who was standing between Sam and Thomas Tan? I presume another Keppelite. And the one between Terni and HL? What is Saigon? I've only been away for less than 2 mths and already seem out of touch. BTW - what's a liger - cross between lion and tiger? That's a new species!

Supardi? Is that the spelling? From Keppel. The other guy is KaMing from DLS, the new postee. Saigon is a new restaurant on Church Street. Yes, a lot can happen in two months. You are right, a liger is a cross between a male lion and a female tiger (the converse is a tigon).
