Night Out

Quite a few of us had intended to go to the flea market at Olive Beach. Amrita and Arvind backed out in the afternoon, then Saritha had an allergy attack at 8.30pm. I think it could be an allergy to parties.

Don't recall if Viraf had actually turned up anywhere on his own before. The Bandhary sisters were there and Benjamin Merton, who seemed to have vanished from the scene since he moved to his new apartment, turned up.

As with all their flea market nights, there was quite a good atmosphere except that it was surprisingly warm indoors. Maybe it was all the lights. Aplletini was still a good choice.

By 10.30pm, everyone was itching to move on. Rumour had it that Blue was staying open until 1am for the introduction of their new bartender. Neeta, Viraf and I decided to go there while the rest headed off to Taika. Jacky is from New Zealand and pretty much the showman. Juggling bottles and playing with fire. This will probably be the new feature at Blue.

Alas, they closed at 11.30pm as well. Ankur got Jacky to make us a last cocktail. It was meant to be a strawberry caipiroska. But they ran out of crushed ice, so we ended up with something like a martini. Interesting taste.

Someone had a birthday there and we listened to the off-key belting out of 'happy birthday'. The crowd thinned as the drinks dried up. Blue is still a pretty cool place to hang out.
