Dhruva & Anisha's Brunch

I flew back to Bangalore a day early so that I could attend this party. It was held at Sunny's and they had invited about 150 people. I told Dhruva that I'd never have a party for so many people. I didn't think I knew so many people well enough. Dhruva explained, "That's why you host it with someone popular like Ani. This way, you know that your guests will all turn up. "

I arrived at 1.15pm and was still early, even though Dhruva had said 12.30. There were only about a half dozen other people there. Sari arrived with Khush about 15 minutes later. Armaity and Viraf were waiting for their maid to turn up before they could leave the house (this is pretty much the story of their life here in Bangalore, everything is ruled by the maid... haha, they will kill me for this.) Amrita and Arvind were only going to be there for two. Everyone was obviously going to be fashionably late, except me.

The party got truly under way only round about two. There were Dhruva and Ani's relatives as well as loads of friends. I decided to just go with beer instead of that potent strawberry caipiroska, which were being dispensed. The fried butterfly prawns that were being served were brilliant. Would have been happy to have just that and nothing else.

Dhruva had got a band (ok, not his cousin's band as I had previously posted... but Shom does bear a striking resemblance to him though... haha) to play for his party. People started dancing when they played these familiar rock and roll and jive numbers. There was a moment of excitement when Arjun tried to dip Armaity they both fell. He ended up dislocating his elbow and had to go to the hospital. (Learned later that he returned later and managed to twirl Armaity around a bit. But he will have to be in a cast for three weeks though.)

By 5.30 pm, the party finally wound down. Dhruva and Ani looked set to carry on further but too much of a good thing is not always for the best. So Saritha and I wisely took our leave.
