Blast from the Past

9th April 2004.


We were spending a long weekend in Coorg. Enroute, we made a side trip to the Namdroling Nyingmapa Monastery in Byalakuppe. The temple was simply magnificent.









The colours that assaulted us the minute we entered the temple was amazing. These golden statues must have been at least 40 feet high from the base of the pedestal which made them truly awe-inspiring.

At the time of our visit, parts of the Golden Temple was still being constructed. That has since been completed and it might well be worth a revisit...
