Received the invite for tomorrow night's party at i-BAR. Maybe some kind of relaunch, considering that they have lost quite a few people, including their DJ Sasha, to the newly opened Fuga. Gautam's company is organising this. Should be a good night. The invite (is that the back of a
matadore's head or bull's horns?) reads:
It's red. It's racy. It's rocking. Welcome to the 'Red Alert' party @ i-BAR. With Malini Ramani as the celebrity bartender. Come, paint the town red. Ole!Wonder if one should take this literally and even dress like a bull fighter...? Nah.

This little seen movie finally helped me to appreciate Johnny Depp. His portrayal of the utterly debauched John Wilmot, 2nd Earl of Rochester was completely believable. It helps that Samantha Morton was also in the cast. For once, especially in a screenplay that involved so much clothes shedding, she kept hers on. The writer adapted this from his own stage play, so of course it was all rather 'stagy'. But I loved the language and the several speeches delivered by Depp that were shamelessly directed at the Oscar judges. His decline towards the end was real for me. Not much melodrama as that would not have been so believable. The pasty make-up to hide his pretty boy looks were a bit distracting but you get used to it. See it if you like period dramas and may be a bit tired of Jane Austen. Also if you like the music of Michael Nyman, beautiful score.
Found this old pic of Pat with Ben that was taken a while back with my PDA (the camera does not work anymore). Not the sharpest picture and the framing is off but I just like it. Reminds me of the good ol' days.

Michael Nyman - he did the score for the Piano, didn't he? Really liked it, so am very keen to find this one.
I like it! Good job. Go on.
