A & A & I decided to try out this new Chinese Restaurant in Sigma Mall. It is apparently owned by the same people from Ling's Pavillion in Mumbai. Their specialty is supposed to be seafood.
The decor was above average. However, it was ovbious from the way the tables were arranged that this was a family oriented restautant and the sense of fine dining is not there. For that, Qi would be a much better bet. In true Chinese restaurant style, the lights were bright enough so that you could see what you were eating and actually read the menu. For a week night, they had quite a good crowd.

I had heard that the food was ok and the seafood was fresh. But it was somewhat disappointing when a few things we had asked for on the menu was not available. Rice paper, lotus leaf... or certain things like some Teochew platter and clay pot stuff would take a while to make. We couldn't help but chuckle at the appearance of tiramisu on the menu. Did the Chinese also invent that and then have it promptly appropriated by the Italians?

We liked the noodles and the chicken but the Singapore sauce was not like what I expected and perhaps did not go as well with prawns as it would the crab. Amy put it best, "It's not the greatest Chinese food, but I'll come back."

Ever considered becoming a part time food reviewer? LOL!
Thanks. But the fact that you are only suggesting part time says it all. Not good enough. I just know if I like it or not; but don't have the inclination or vocabulary to go into all these minute details.
So, not quitting my day job any time soon. LOL
Yeah, second Jonzz. I think you should rename your blog to the Bangalore food blog!
Oh, and check out that spelling of "restaurant"!!
